People have all different kinds of routes, so I will tell you about my kind. It's the best, I think!
My route consists of about 14 people who are disabled and homebound, to different degrees. I deliver a hot meal for Meals on Wheels every weekday morning. For me, I try to deliver a little happiness in the way of a smile, or chat, or sometimes a hug. Many times I'm the one that gets the smile!
All of my Peeps (people) have different situations and needs. Some just want the meal and a "How are you?", some want me to come in and put the meal in a designated spot, and chat a minute. Some I could easily spend an hour with "chatting", and it can be hard to cut it short. Almost everyone wants to know about me and what is going on.
I might use the term "work", but I don't consider it to be. I started out as a volunteer and if I had to, I'd do it again. The pay is much more than a check could ever be!! This blog is about the Peeps. I want to remember......
